we begin with two fronts on the economy. on wednesday fed chairman ben bernanke said he would continue massive government stimulus to the economy. futures are higher today. all of the green arrows may be short-lived. in less than two weeks the government will run out of money. and republicans say they will link defunding of obamacare to negotiations on the debt ceiling and the federal budget. that did not sit well with president obama. >> you have never seen in the history of the united states the debt ceiling or the threat of not raising the debt ceiling being used to extort a president or a governing party. and trying to force issues that have nothing to do with the budget and have nothing to do with the debt. >> senate democrats say they will reject any house bill that strips money from the president's health care law.

the winner walking away with about $134 million after taxes. turning to flooding in colorado. officials say property losses from record flooding are approaching $2 billion. more than 7,200 homes and businesses were impacted by the waters. this morning we are learning fewer than 6,000 of those had flood insurance. some residents are being allowed back inside the flood zone. fema is warning locals to try to stay out of any flood waters no matter how shallow fearing pollution. now for the national forecast. bill, good morning. >> we've had a low number of billion dollar weather disasters this year. other years we had more. moore oklahoma was our first and now in in colorado is the second one of the year. a couple years ago we had like 15 in one year because we had a lot of hurricanes which we haven't had this season. our friends in mexico are the ones struggling right now. hurricane manuel, this has killed 80 people in mexico and left about 40,000 people

now to other stories making news this morning. clicking the like button on facebook is protected free speech under the constitution. that's according to an appeals court in virginia. in a case involving people fired by a sheriff for supporting the political opponent in 2009, the judge said that clicking like could be considered the 21st century of a campaign yard sign. a judge in ten see has ruled that an 8 month old baby can be named messiah. that judge reversed a closer court decision that said messiah was a title reserved for jesus christ. the boy's mother said she said she liked the way it sounded with the names of her other two sons. assad says the report that found evidence of a nerve gas attack in syria is unrealistic

place in congress. as we mentioned earlier in the show, house republicans are threatening to shut down the government unless obamacare is defunded. is there any way it will work? >> probably not. but if you read between the lines, everything that is re relevant here is really between the lines. there is all kinds of room for maneuvering. the house will indulge its fetish for house republicans to defund obama care as they like to call it, then it goes to the senate, the senate is going to turn that down. and then the negotiation is going to start. and you even have this back fall for speaker boehner that he can count on democrats to help him prevail and avoid a government shutdown at the end. the problem he has then is that he'll probably lose his caucus and soon would be former speaker boehner. >> so you mentioned the situation that boehner is in. this is quite a bind for him. so what do you think is the best way forward here? what's the best of the bad options? >> probably for him would be to call in sick, something like
